LYNN ASHER

Born and raised in Portland, Maine, Lynn moved to the Bay Area sixteen years ago to pursue a career in music. Lynn is widely known for delivering a strong, powerful, heartfelt live performance connecting with her audience with conviction and fierce honesty. At home on stage, her influences range from icons Janis Joplin and Aretha Franklin, to Gladys Knight, Lucinda Williams, Joan Osborne and Patty Griffin.

Over the years she has performed and recorded with some of the top musicians in the industry including: Big Brother & The Holding Company, Producer/vocalist Raz Kennedy (founding member of Bobby McFerrin's Voicestra), Producer/drummer Narada Michael Walden (Whitney, Aretha, Mariah, Stevie Wonder), Hall of Fame recipient and founding member of The Talking Heads, Jerry Harrison, guitarist Tal Morris (Creedence Clearwater Revisited, Huey Lewis & The News), drummer Gigi Gonaway (Mariah Carey Sheryl Crow), guitarist James Nash of the Waybacks, Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead & Rat Dog, guitarist/composer, Michael LaMacchia, and guitarist/vocalist James Moseley at some of the most legendary clubs in the San Francisco Bay Area such as The Great American Music Hall.

She has opened for the legendary Lydia Pense & Cold Blood, and opened the John Corbett Band both with her former band Asher & Paige. She has recorded lead and background vocals for various artists as well as for radio, television and film, including vocals for the movie soundtrack, DVD and CD "RENT" the hit Broadway musical. In 2008, Lynn landed her first acting gig in a production of The Vagina Monologues.

As of March 2007, after many years of covering other artist's songs, Lynn began writing with Michael LaMacchia for their project EV-O-LU-TION, releasing a live CD of all original material in January of 2008. Lynn continues to write and is recording a new CD of her material as a solo artist in 2009.

She has been a vocalist with the James Moseley Band since November 2006.
